Simon Spain is an Australia Council for the Arts Community Arts and Cultural Development Fellow and is a specialist in creating engaging arts encounters for children and families. self assembly is a central element of his current PhD. Simon lives just outside Hobart, is co-director of the ArTELIER project and is chair of Regional Arts Australia.
Come along and create a figure to create a special installation being created for Nayri Niara. Choose your wooden pieces and assembly them with plaster bandages, under the guidance of artist Simon Spain. Once made, your will join your figure to the others so it can stand in a circle to celebrate and decorate the festival. It’s an easy and fun activity for children and parents to do together.
