Young Dawkins was a central figure in the New Hampshire beat revival
movement, where he helped found the Jazzmouth Poetry Festival. He has been
published in literary journals including Currents and Concrete Wolf, and was
recently included in Griffith Review 63: Writing The Country.
His debut poetry collection The Lilac Thief was published in 2009 by Sargent
Press.
Young won the 2011 Scottish National Poetry Slam, and represented Scotland at
the Poetry World Cup in Paris.
Since moving to Tasmania in 2013, Young has been a guest poet at the 2016
Tasmanian Poetry Festival and the 2017 Tasmanian Writers and Readers
Festival. In 2017 he won the Huon Valley Storytellers Cup, which took place as
part of the Huon Valley Midwinter Festival.
