Three Australian Indigenous Artists standing together

We connect and co-create on projects that heal and rebuild Indigenous cultural knowledge, with the goal of building new futures within and beyond the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.

“We believe in belonging - knowing that we, & what we create, matters to the world.”

— Ruth Langford, founder & director of Nayri Niara

    Our Way Home Program

Nayri Niara’s “Our Way Home” mentee program reflects Nayri Niara’s core values of sharing Indigenous knowledge and ways of being, inclusivity, building connections and teaching lasting skills in a safe and spirit raising environment.

The “Our Way Home” program strengthens relationships between the Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, investing in longer term community building and working towards our mission of ‘Closing the Gap’ for Indigenous people.

  • CHOSEN Exhibition

Five esteemed senior Aboriginal cultural practitioners acknowledged the next generation of Aboriginal artists they wanted to be seen. Due to covid in 2020, the normal presentation of artwork at the Darwin Aboriginal Artfair (DAAF) was cancelled, so Nayri Niara was delighted to host a live curated exhibition at The LongHouse & partnered with walantanalinany palingina & DAAF to deliver the online catalogue.
