Sarah McCure - Compassionate Communication

"Sarah first embraced Compassionate Communication also known as Nonviolent Communication (NVC) over a decade ago after experiencing how this work brought together all the elements of her own practice in a way that supported the compassion and peace she longed for in the world.

Experiencing the transformation of pain or conflict into deepening connection and mutually supportive outcomes in relationship has been a powerful impetus to share this work with others.

From engaging with tricky workplace dynamics, to expressing our pain and conflict with intimate partners in a way that nourishes growth and healing, to building a nurturing parenting paradigm with our children or supporting a regenerative and powerful energy in our chosen activism or social justice pursuits, NVC offers us a way to integrate and unify our mind, heart, and values.

Sarah also practices as a clinical consultant in Nutritional and Natural Medicine and is passionate about growing food and herbal medicine as well as having a particular interest in mental health, neurodegenerative disorders and healthy brain ageing.

TESTIMONIALS

  • "..it has been really helpful to see NVC in practice (compared with just reading the book). Especially the role plays – so many of the things you said in those really ‘cut to the chase’, so to speak – they were the core of what I haven’t really grasped when reading books!"

  • “Persistent issues of misunderstanding & conflict with my partner brought us to seek the assistance of an NVC Counselor. We were very fortunate indeed to find Sarah. Her skills and experience in NVC, coupled with her innate compassion and gentle joy are invaluable in resolving the issues that caused us difficulty in relationship as well as the broader world.

Sarah has natural and sincere empathy and I feel an immense trust, not only her helpfulness but also in her professionalism in all aspects of her counseling service. Her work has helped us to live better lives and for that I shall always be very grateful to Sarah and would seek her out in times of challenge.”

  • “When I first met with Sarah I had an enthusiasm for the ideas in NVC I had read about in Marshall Rosenberg’s book. I knew I needed to connect with other people if NVC was going to come alive and get out off the pages for me. What I didn’t get from just reading and am gaining from sessions with Sarah is being put in touch with the ‘heart’ of NVC through becoming acquainted with my own feelings and needs. Through this empathy with myself I’m starting to see there might be other possibilities for who I am and the shape of my life. I’m realising that this self-empathy, mediated through working with Sarah, is the foundation that can make practicing the ideas of NVC a real possibility for me and with those I relate to.”
