We invite you to deep dive into topics that have depth, heart and meaning. Hear from inspiring and provoking guest speakers and participate in community discussions that reveal, inspire and heal. The Under the Surface Forums are an invitation to expose topics and stories that are often hidden from view, asking those questions we often bite our tongue upon, but all want to ask.

We are delighted to host Caroline Spotswood as our inaugural guest speaker:
Caroline leads the Government’s transformation on how we work with Aboriginal people with two major initiatives - Closing the Gap Priorities and the Pathway to Truth-Telling and Treaty.   Her vision is that Aboriginal people are at the centre of her work, working through co-design, shared decision making and bringing the voice of Aboriginal people to the centre of the Government’s decision making.

Prior to this role, Caroline was Head of Service at Riawunna Centre for Aboriginal Education at the University of Tasmania.  She has a bachelor’s degree in Jurisprudence and Social Work.

Caroline is excited to be bringing light to important conversations in the Under the Surface Forum. In Caroline’s words: “Aboriginal people work harder to prove they can do the job, balance family, meet their Community obligations and deliver on the cultural load placed on them by white colleagues.  Distinguished Professor Maggie Walter said to me ‘don’t let fear hold you back.’”
